William D. Gaunt, Jr., age 82, of Elsinboro passed away Saturday, August 8th at Inspira Medical Center, Elmer.
Born in Camden, he was the son of the late William, Sr. and Edna Erdner Gaunt. Bill was a dairy farmer before opening his auto repair shop in 1967 in Salem. He was a drag racer who enjoyed NASCAR and football. Bill was a member of the Eagles Lodge Aerie 1966 of Salem and the Salem Boat Club as well as a social member of the VFW Post 253, Tilbury. He is survived by his sons, Bill (Elf) Gaunt (Kim) of Salem, Ray Gaunt of Quinton and Anthony Gaunt of Mullica Hill; brother, Ed Gaunt (Donna) of Pennsville; grandchildren, Ray, Brandon, Nicholas, Nathan, BJ and Kristen; his great grandchildren. Bill is predeceased by his wife, Donna Norton Gaunt; brother, George Gaunt; sister; Betty Pierson.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 12thin Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove.
