Robert “Bob” Blake Obituary

Robert (Bob) Edward Blake, 74, of Woodbury Heights, NJ, beloved husband of late Catherine (Cathy) M. Blake passed away on December 25 th , 2020. Bob was born on November 26 th , 1946 to Albert and Genevieve Blake in Salem, NJ. Bob was a 1964 graduate of St. James High School and went on to serve four years in the Air Force as a Radar Technician. Prior to retiring, Bob was employed as an Electronics Engineer with Metrologic (currently Honeywell) since 1975. Bob loved spending time with family, especially weekends with his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending air shows, photography, electronics, trips to the Jersey shore and the Outer Banks, NC, sharing memories of times past in “The Terrace”, Saint James High School and his time in the Air Force. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, Phillies, Eagles, Flyers and the Sixers. Bob spent countless hours tinkering and whittling in his “shed” that he built, and continuously expanded on his backyard. He crafted innumerable tables, desks, sculptures and nameplates, for his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Bob is survived by his daughter, Brittany (Mike) Sanderlin of Great Mills, MD; his daughter, Amy Seastrong of Trumbull, CT; son Robert (Melissa) of Salem, NJ; daughter Rena Blake (James Dick Jr.) of Stow Creek, NJ; grandchildren, Alexandra and Willow Sanderlin of Great Mills, MD; Parker and Brady Seastrong of Trumbull, CT; Liam and Lily Blake of Salem, NJ; and Marley Blake of Stow Creek, NJ; sister Barbara Lombardo of Tampa, FL; in-laws Patrick (Sherri) Byrne, Michele (Ken) Wilson, John Byrne; as well as, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cathy; his parents, Albert and Genevieve Blake; his brother, William Blake; the mother of his children, Christine Blake, and son-in-law Matthew Seastrong. He achieved the rank of Sergeant in the United States Air Force and will be laid to rest with military honors. 

Services will be held on January 9th, 2020 at 2pm, the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Address: 719 Route 45, Pilesgrove, NJ 08098. Interment will follow immediately after
