Mary Louise Parkell, born in Greenville, South Carolina on October 27, 1962, passed from this life into a better, more perfect life on January 14, 2022. "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." I Thessalonians 5:18 This characterizes Mary Louise, who was perpetually thankful for everything that came her way, happy times and times spent in hospitals and nursing homes, even thanking the medical staff for the hundreds of necessary injections and for even the smallest of gifts from family and friends. Mary Louise attended a special class at Salem Middle School and St. John of God School in Westville Grove and worked at the Arc of Salem County and Easter Seals in Millville. Her last eight years were spent in Southgate Health Care Center where she made many friends in the staff. Her smile, ready compliments and thank yous will be missed. She leaves behind her family who are grateful to have been a part of her life and to have learned many life lessons from her. We will be remembering her colorful "Maryisms" all of our lives. We are her "mother", Mary Hancock, father and stepmother, Fred and Linda Parkell, sisters, Rebecca Brown (Michael) and Sarah Dolbow (Jeffrey), brother, Fred Parkell (Becky), nieces and nephews, Miles Brown, Sarah Brown-Fernandez (Eric), Christoper Dolbow (Becca), Jordan Dolbow, Hunter Parkell, Thomas Parkell, Grandniece, Blakeley Brown-Fernandez and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. Mary Louise was predeceased by grandparents, F. Edward and Eunice Parkell and Richard and Sarah Davis.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 20th in Eastview Cemetery, Salem.
