Jeremiah Emel Obituary

Jeremiah Richard Emel, 38 of Newark, DE. Friend to all, loved by many passed away on February 6, 2021.

Jeremiah had so many fond memories as a child growing up in the country, loved the work with his Emel family on their dairy farm and being taught by his Dad to run a tractor and work on his farm. He loved his time spent with his Owens family and their yearly August trips to Ocean City, NJ. As he was in high school and a young adult he loved spending time with his friends and spending weekend trips to auto shows being a lowered truck enthusiast. He was a hard worker and was proud to be in the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542 for 18 years and was thankful for all he learned throughout his apprenticeship and enjoyed a hard day's work with his Brandywine Construction Company family. Jeremiah was a caring and compassionate man and was deeply saddened with his mothers illness and passing and was by her side, day in and day out. He loved spending time with her watching anything that made them laugh until they cried, especially classic Looney Tunes cartoons. Jeremiah was predeceased by his Mother Debra Owens Emel and his grandparents, Roland and Mildred Emel. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, loved an old Western, listening to Elvis Presley and spending his time with his long-time love/Fiance Lindsey Marconi. Jeremiah will be missed by his Father and Step-Mother Richard and Gayle Emel, his sister Deanne (Jeff) Foote and his nephews Jacob and Brody Foote, his Grandmother Hilda Owens, many aunts, uncles and cousins and all of his friends and coworkers. Jeremiah is a hero and his legacy lives on in the lives of the 3 people whose lives were forever changed when they received his organ donations through the Gift of Life Donor Program.

A celebration of his life will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 12th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Rt. 49, Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) where friends may call after 10:00 AM.
