Harold A. Wright, Jr., age 84, of Salem passed away Monday, January 23rd 2023 in Inspira Medical Center, Mullica Hill.
Born in Salem, NJ, he was the son of the late Harold A. Wright, Sr. and Sarah Grosscup Wright. “Hal” was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1957. He married the love of his life, Barbara Anne Hadley, on July 4, 1958. Before his retirement, Hal was a chemical operator for E.I. Dupont Chambers Works. Hal was a member of the Salem Exchange Club where he served as a past president and a past district director. He was also a former member of the Union Fire Company of Salem and the Salem Zoning Board. Hal was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Pennsville where he enjoyed playing percussion. He had a passion for farming and raising beef cattle. Hal loved to dance, and in high school was known as "crazy legs"! He was a proud member of the Swamp Angels. He is survived by his son, Douglas Wright of Pennsville; his daughter, Sally Wright of Pennsville; brother, Terry Wright (Pat) of Salem; grandchildren, Harold Wright, IV (Alicia), Christopher Wright, Alec Wright and Dorea Wright; five great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Hal is predeceased by his wife, Barbara Hadley Wright; and son, Harold "Howdy" A. Wright, III.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, January 30th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) Services will be held 10:15 AM, Tuesday, January 31st in Trinity United Methodist Church, 75 South Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070 where family and friends may also visit from 9:30 to 10:15 AM. Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist of Pennsville.
