Dorothy Sims Ayars, age 82, of Quinton passed away Friday, October 26th in Mullica Hill Gardens.
Born in Bridgeton, she is the daughter of the late Ralph and Hanna Newkirk Sims. Before her retirement, Dot was a secretary for E.I. DuPont Co. Chambers Works, St. John's Day School, known now as Woodland Country Day School and for Today's Sunbeam, now the South Jersey Times. She enjoyed knitting, jig-saw puzzles, bowling and being a volunteer at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County and Inspira of Elmer. Dot is survived by her husband, William H. Ayars III; her daughters, Patricia Nestor (Jack) of LAC and Suzanne Ayars of Quinton; her granddaughters, Shayna Nestor (Patrick Schneiter) and Emily Lafferty (Brian); sister, Hilda Stoms of Mannington and brother, Donald Sims of TX. She is predeceased by her sisters, Mildred Hoffman and Charlotte Williams; brother, John Albert Sims; and her Aunt Bessie Sims.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 30th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 34 Oak Street, Salem where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.
