David R. Summiel, Jr., age 75, of Lower Alloway's Creek passed away Sunday, January 20th in Southgate, Carneys Point.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late David R. Sr. and Dorothy Van Riper Summiel. Mr. Summiel was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam. Before his retirement, he was employed by the E.I. DuPont Co. Chambers Works as an operator in special operations. David was a member of the LAC Ruitan, Townsman Social Club and the Hancock's Bridge United Methodist Church. He was a past member of the LAC School Board and the Morning Star Baptist Church. David enjoyed cutting grass, traveling and attending social events. He is survived by his wife, the former Saundra Walden; his sons, David R. Summiel III (Tammy) and Douglas R. Summiel (fiancee' Kerry Nisco); 4 brothers and 2 sisters; grandchildren, David IV, Devin, Olivia, Maya and Ty.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 26th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd., RT. 49, Quinton Twp. where friends may call after 9:00 AM. Burial will be in Salem County Veteran's Cemetery, Pilesgrove. Contributions in David's memory may be sent to Hancock's Bridge United Methodist Church. 50 Main St., Hancock's Bridge, NJ 08038.
