Welcome to the memorial page for

Sir Max Lee Woodside

January 8, 2018

Sir Max Lee Woodside, age 12, of Salem, passed away in the arms of his beloved Mommy, surrounded by his family on Monday, January 8th, 2018.

Max was adopted into his "Forever Family" from Mid-Atlantic Schnauzer Rescue in April 2012. Max had a special ability to connect emotionally with people and other animals. Very early in their relationship, Max developed an unwavering and special devotion to his Mommy, Terri Woodside, and his brother, the late Sir Spooky. Immediately recognizing his new Mommy's emotional void at the loss of her father less than 48 hours after Max joined the family, he "rescued" her, becoming known as "Terri's Dog." Affectionately called "Maxy" by those who loved him, he was most notably part of the duo known as "The Boys." While Max enjoyed healthy snack including strawberries and carrots, he also looked forward to cleaning the floor around his niece's highchair, and visiting Rita's Water Ice where his favorite flavor was "Birthday Cake." Max's hobbies included being his Mommy's "shadow," taking care rides, chasing squirrels, and traveling. Max traveled throughout the United States to destinations including Vermont, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Ocean City, NJ where he enjoyed running on the beach. Max is survived by his parents, Ted and Terri Woodside; sister, Tara Lee Woodside; brother, Tyler Brandon; niece, Tessa Lee; and uncle, Lee Weatherbee. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Lee and Barbara Weatherbee, and his beloved Schnauzer brother, Sir Spooky Woodside, whom he missed very much.

Max's family would like to thank Mid-Atlantic Schnauzer Rescue for their unwavering commitment at providing Schnauzers another chance at life and love with their "Forever Families," remembering that grief is the price we pay for love.
