Reverend David Paris Scull, 80, went home to be with his Lord on the morning of February 16, 2018. A lifelong resident of Salem County and 1956 graduate of Salem High School, he was born to William Scull and Hazel Mae Doran. Dave spent his life sharing the good news of God's unconditional love, acceptance and forgiveness. He served as a youth pastor for Lighthouse Youth Ministries, as a worship leader and pastor at Calvary Temple, was the founding pastor of Jubilee Living Word Ministries and provided chaplain ministry to area hospitals. Dave worked at J. C. Penney, sold life insurance for State Farm and was also a pipe fitter at Mannington Mills. As a teen, he was a founding member of the Swamp Angels, a group known for fun, good works and allegedly a bit of ornery shenanigans. Dave loved golf, gardening, bee keeping, home improvement, Christmas, Salem High School and Eagles football, Hudock's peanut butter milkshakes, banana splits and foot long hot dogs (light on the sauce and sauerkraut). Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn and his children Dave (Tracy), Jonathan (Melanie), Louis (Corin) and James. He will also be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren, Cassandra, Jonathan, Jeremy and Olivia, his great grandson Oliver, by his brothers Thomas and Samuel as well as numerous extended family members. Dave was predeceased by his sisters Nadean and Ada and brothers William and James.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 22 from 11AM to 1PM at Woodside Funeral Home, 613 Salem Quinton Road (Rt 49) Quinton. A Celebration of Dave's life will begin at 1PM at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 23 at 10AM at Eglington Cemetery on 320 Kings Highway Rt 551, Clarksboro. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Northstar Fellowship Church (formerly Jubilee) C/O Andrew P. Surace, PO Box 777 Marmora, NJ 08223.
