Gladys Schrier Mullica was born on May 3rd, 1928 to Enoch and Lydia (Schrier) Nelson at the home in which she died, which was her wish. Even though her name was Gladys she was always called Sis, this was started when she was a child and has stayed with her until today. Although she never worked outside of the home she did help care for her Mother in her later years. Sis always loved having a garden and did a lot of canning with the vegetables she grew. In 1957 Sis and Charles met while she and her mother were shopping for shoes at Browns Shoe Store in Salem. After dating for several years they were married in Elkton, MD on March 11th, 1967. They had just celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. Even though they did not have any children themselves you could almost always find one of their niece's or nephew's at their home. Sis also loved working with wood and would often use the items as gifts to her family and friends. She was predeceased by sisters, Josephine Caldwell, Mae Judd and Mae's husbands, Wilbur Sheets and George Judd. Sis leaves behind her loving husband, Charles T. Mullica; brother-in-law, Robert Caldwell of LAC; nieces and nephews, Garry and Tina Halstead of Pilesgrove, Cindy and Warren Knight of LAC, Larry and Peggy Halstead of Elsinboro, Brenda and Wayne Cheeseman of Pennsville and Carol and Robert Simmermon of Carneys Point; her great nieces and nephews, Larry, Sandy, Christopher, Bettina, Jesse, Steven, Autumn, Nathan, Justin, Joseph, Rachel, Jenna, Valerie, Levi and Jordan; as well as 20 great-great nieces and nephews.
