David Ayars, 71, of Elsinboro passed away at his home on June 2, 2017. Son of the late David (Pete) Ayars and the late Bernedine Y. Ayars. Dave was a graduate of the Salem High School Class of 1963, Goldey Beacom, Delaware Technical Institute, and served in the US Army stationed in Germany and Korea. He became Director of Cardiopulmonary/Respiratory Therapy at the former Salem County Memorial Hospital, where he was admired and respected until his retirement in 2002. An avid outdoorsman, Dave enjoyed all seasons of the year. He was an accomplished upland and waterfowl hunter and took great pride in gardening and landscaping in the serenity of country living, where he welcomed the annual return of the hummingbirds. He felt he was a fortunate man to have all his family close by to enjoy on a daily basis. David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joan (nee Ayares) and three children, Joe (Sarah), Jennifer May (George) and Jonathan (Alyssa Haynes); three grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Andrew May and Paige Ayars. Also brothers, Ralph (Tina) Ayars of Wilmington, DE and Robert (Rebecca) Ayars of Stanford, CT.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with David's family on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 34 Oak Street, Salem, NJ 08079.
